Grate sandwiches! Cool Grateful Dead decor.
Sandwich was decent but customer service was terrible. Gentleman who took my order was very rude and condescending, rushing me to make my order and then giving me grief for changing my mind. Almost was so disrespectful that I considered cancelling my order. So disappointing because I really like this place and I have never had a bad experience but I won’t be back. I understand these are tough times but there’s no excuse for this blatant disregard for customer service and respect.
Was looking for something reasonably priced in Aspen (which was hard to find!) and Google map showed me this place. Their sandwiches and paninis are very good. Portions are pretty big, too.
Great sandwiches and salads. Perfect for a casual lunch. They don't have much space so be prepared to take them home or find a park.
Food was average. Service was non- existent. I get counter deli service, but no need to be arrogant and rude. Lose the highbrow snot nosed attitude. Customers should not succumb to the auto tip feature when swiping the card, you'll get nothing for it but disdain. Ask for the restroom and you'll be told its across the street at the Conoco, but it's closed. Server can't walk 15 feet to deliver your food to the street side table - too busy reading a book. Quindesintial, self entitled, disrespectful, wet behind the ears punk with a bad case of millenialisim. Don't waste your time or money.
Great little affordable lunch spot. A real staple for the Aspen community. I've been here a few years, the food always tastes the same.
Whomever took 1 star off for this restaurant is an educated foody that obviously hasn't wandered past their nose in life...Amazongly long menu, cool hip peaceful scene, mountain bikes, mountain views, and the tastiest food.Between the speed, services homegrown feel and quality and craftsmanship of the food this restuarant ranks in the One 1 thousandth millionth percentile Peace and love My homies 6 foot under will rise againThe Grateful Dead
Great place to grab a sandwich. Guys are friendly. Easy in and out with parking at the curb.
Unbelievable food and ambiance.... get that Dire Wolf! DONT MURDER ME!
Reasonably priced, especially for being in Aspen, and the sandwiches are really good.
Fun atmosphere, great sandwiches, good prices.
There was a shift change soon after we ordered so they never called our order until we went in 15 minutes later to ask about it. They were super nice about it though and gave us 2 cookies, a brownie, and a s'more. Ridiculously nice people, good food, and one of the most inexpensive eats in Aspen.
I loved the food a lot super great place. Only no restrooms at all. Which is sad to hear. Only I know it is hard when it is a small place on a older place down town.
Good sandwiches, recently moved to aspen and will make this a weekly or biweekly stop for sure, they also have seating outside with a great view, nice little place
Would not suggest to go here if you don't or can't eat dairy products. I asked for a sandwich to be made with no cheese and they said it was possible, and we replaced the pesto for bbq sauce. But when I got the sandwich it had cheese :(
The sandwiches are absolutely delicious, the prices are great in general and amazing for Aspen, the service was very fast and friendly. I literally have nothing negative to say about this place. Keep it up!
Cool little hole in the wall deli. The sandwich that I had was excellent!
If you need a super lunch on Aspen, be sure to try out the Grateful Deli. Good deals on subs and panini s. Great service as well.
Great sandwiches made by a great local family! The Dire Wolf might be my favorite sandwich ever..... definitely recommend ordering well in advance. They get pretty busy at lunch time......
If you love the dead - you need to stop here. Super cool deli. Amazing food and so many options for salads, subs and paninis. Awesome selections of drinks and chips! Nice people
Sandwiches were delicious, prices perfect for what you get. Was a great stop for a quick lunch while in Aspen
Either the owner or manager was enormously disrespectful when I mistakenly walked in and the place was closed. I didnt notice the tiny closed sign and the door was unlocked, plus it was just before noon on a thursday, so I was a bit surprised. But when the British gentleman behind the desk insulted me for not noticing the tiny closed sign, i really felt compelled to write something public. You don't treat new neighbors and local physicians like this, we have a very public sphere of influence. I look forward to encouraging others to find alternative sandwich options in town.
Pretty good Italian sandwhich, great price for Aspen. If you’re looking for value this place hits the mark.
Great Grateful Dead-themed sandwiches and a reasonably-priced lunch if you have to go to Aspen. Shop is tiny and there are just a couple of tables outside, so call ahead if you can. Wait can get pretty crazy during lunch rush and especially weekends. Homemade dessert treats are delish.
Yummy sandwich, reasonably priced and fast service. Open in the off season. Convenient location. Friendly staff who know the myriad sandwiches and can point you in the right direction. No indoor seating, so plan for that in the winter or if the weather's bad. I'll be back.
Good sandwiches. Takeout only.
Just got a sandwich and a salad. We split the sandwich between the two of us and was a lot of food. Saved the salad for later. Service, food , and the price was excellent.
Best sandwich I've EVER eaten!!!
A hole in the wall sandwich shop with abundant taste. Grateful Deli has the best sandwich selection in Aspen.
Affordable food in Aspen. That alone is worth four stars. The sandwiches are pretty awesome too, Jerry Garcia themed
Best sandwiches in Aspen (according to voters) year after year. It's not hard to see why. Try everything and then try every sandwich as a panini, they're all glorious.
A must have in aspen. Great sandwitches
Great option for a quick sandwich. Sandwiches are delicious and plenty filling. Aspen in general is an expensive town so finding a quick, inexpensive lunch option was a big win. No indoor seating but they did have a limited number of tables and chairs outside.
Completely agree with all other positive reviews, a MUST try!! I believe they can and should push those corporate way guys out of business!!!
Amazing food and reasonably quick service, as well as friendly staff. Definitely would eat there again.
good food. friendly staff. very reasonable prices for the aspen area. recommended
This Grateful Dead themed deli is a good place to grab a salad or sandwich to go. The only seating is outside and very limited. The staff is super friendly and my sandwich (the Franklin's Tower) was great. The ingredients are fresh and food is made with great care. I'll be back!!!
Aspen is running out of affordable food and this mainstay is one of the best around.
I am Grateful there is a Deli here.
The sandwich shop we have all been hoping to find on this long, strange trip! My Dire Wolf was excellent, and my wife raved about her Scarlet>Fire. They have gluten free bread.
Cool spot for affordable good eats in Aspen.
I love the creatively named, and reasonably priced sandwiches. A great spot for Deadheads and anyone else who wants a great sandwich. Some staff interaction has been pleasant. However, some of the staff could do a little better job in the friendliness department.
Quick and tasty and reasonably priced considering where you are. They love Jerry Garcia for sure and so do I!
The Grateful Deli came recommended to us by an Aspen local we ran into on a trail. Our sandwiches were delicious and reasonably priced (especially for Aspen).
As of today, I'd only ever heard of this place, but I finally had the time to get in and try it out! I had the Mexicali panini, and it was hands down the best that I've ever had! Oh, and their brownies are to die for! If you ever get a chance, stop in and try them out!
Always great experience
It's all about the quality and choices you have in one place. I have a place to get great fresh fish and that's was enough but that is just the beginning.
The place is small but don't let that turn you away. That food is amazing. Its definitely a must try if you coming into or going thru aspen
Great sandwiches! Had the Garcia one day and Minglewood another day. Both great choices! From the looks of the rest of the menu you can't go wrong. Be prepared for a little bit of a wait if you are going during peak lunch hours.
Get a punch card, you won't regret it.
